Interested in medicine but not being a doctor?

I have seen an ever increasing number of students over the last 2-3 years coming in for career counseling who are interested in the medical field but don't think they want to be a doctor (for a variety of reasons including my personal favorite, "I don't want to touch people").

Certainly, with the opening of Hofstra's Medical School last year and the Health Professions unit this upcoming fall, I anticipate the number of students interested in healthcare at Hofstra to rise.  Healthcare is an industry that continues to grow and is made up of many professions including, public relations, accounting, information technology, counseling, and more!  Here are two timely articles that I found that describe just a few jobs that may be of interest to those of you interested in healthcare:
