The Growth of Distance Learning

Distance learning is greatly reshaping our educational system and how we view traditional learning. It has absolutely had a major influence on the learning process.

As an alumna of an online Master’s program at Hofstra, I feel that my distance learning courses and programs resulted (surprising to me at first!) in a deeper relationship with my classmates and the material within my online courses through discussion boards and technological avenues for communication. Technology allows students, specifically in online courses, to explore specific topics thoroughly and in greater detail and provides greater opportunities for discussion, and exploration. It has truly been a life-changing experience so far, and I have confidence that it will continue to grow in popularity in the future.
