Connect with The Career Center: Marybeth Dwyer


1. What is your role at the Career Center?
My role is the Senior Assistant to the Career Center and I am in charge of the front desk and all of our wonderful student workers!

2. What did you study in school OR what was your favorite class when you were in school?
I attended Hofstra for Business Administration in Management.

3. Where is your favorite spot on campus?
My favorite spot is the Student Center because it's always bustling with students and activities!

4. What is your favorite season and why?
I love Summer because I get to spend time at the beach with my family and friends.

5. What message do you have for the incoming class of 2019/returning Hofstra students as they begin their new school year?
Enjoy your time at school, find the balance of class/time with friends...and make the most of the opportunities given to you!

Plug Into Your Career!

Are you interested in the tech industry or working for a start-up, but don’t know where to start?

Information Technology (IT) is a growing industry, but you don’t have to be an IT major to find your place in the field. Many tech companies need to fill up their positions fast, which may include areas such as marketing and administrative roles, according to The Wall Street Journal article “Forget the Stereotype: Profile of an IT Worker.”
