Pride Recruiting is in Full Effect!

As the first week of on campus interviews comes to an end, I feel so proud of the students that are in this program.  The employers had nothing but great things to say about the Pride Recruiting participants.  And yes, I do get to see the interviewees dressed up with their padfolios on their laps and their nervous twitches going at 100 miles an hour.  That’s when I try to ease the nerves by going out to the reception area to crack some jokes and pump everyone up!

From the employers’ perspective (and they tell me everything), they loved how the students dressed in business attire, how they were early for their interviews, were prepared with questions, and even had excellent handshakes - it didn’t feel like a dead fish!

You must be asking, ok, what IS Pride Recruiting?

Pride Recruiting is the on-campus interview program that brings first-round job and internship interviews to you! Through Pride Recruiting, students can interview at The Career Center and is recommended for students in all majors. To participate in this program, students must attend one of the mandatory Pride Recruiting orientations, an Interview to Impress workshop, and a Mock Interview. I advise students to bring their resume, which our counselors critique immediately following the orientation.  We have three orientations left, Friday, October 14th at 11 a.m., Thursday, October 20th at 3 p.m. and Tuesday October 25th at 10 a.m. and 4 p.m.

This week, we hosted the following accounting firms: Eisner Amper, Ernst and Young, Rosen, Seymour, Shapss, Martin and Co, Marcum LLP, Berdon LLP, Cornick, Garber and Sandler, Margolin, Winer and Evens, Grassi & Co, BDO, JH Cohn and Deloitte.  ALDI US, the leader in the international grocery retailing industry, was also thrown into the mix this week.  And this was in ONE week!  In the upcoming weeks we will host 25 more organizations and more will be added.

On-campus Recruiting is a great way to learn how to interview, network with employers and of course a great way to get an internship or full-time employment. (oh and you get to become my BFF!)

Join us at any of our upcoming orientations! I look forward to meeting you!
