Events for the Week of 1/30/12

LIREG- Real Estate @ Work Info Table
The Real Estate @ Work program is designed to give students an opportunity to be exposed to the many facets of the real estate business as they prepare for their careers. This program is open to Juniors and Seniors as a 1-credit 174 internships course (who meet the following prerequisite requirements: 58+ credits, a GPA >/= 2.5 and passage of the core introductory course of their major) as well as to students in the MS/MBA program as a 1-credit 329 internship course
(if they have had 3 core competency courses, one of which must be in the field of the student’s major and subject of the internship, or approved equivalents; 12 graduate-level credits with a 3.2 average; and permission of department chairperson) . Students who meet these prerequisites and who are interested in receiving academic credit for this opportunity can receive one credit through their internship coordinator in The Frank G. Zarb School of Business. Students can also elect to participate in this program without receiving academic credit.

Applicants accepted to the program will be given the opportunity to visit six companies with offices in Long Island. Each company will be engaged in a different aspect of the real estate industry. The visits will allow participants to see, first hand, what goes on day-to-day in the business environment. By visiting a wide variety of companies, participants will be able to make better decisions about what type of career they want to pursue, and what type of company they want to work in. The program will allow participants to see how they can creatively apply the skills they are learning in college. In order to participate in this program you need to attend the following meetings
