The Resume Process: You don't have to go it alone!

My name is Alex Seminara, and I am a junior majoring in Finance here at Hofstra. I was seeking help with my resume, so I met with Lorraine Massiah in The Career Center.

As many of you probably know, a well – polished resume is crucial to your chances at landing a job or internship. It is the very first thing that an employer sees, and it is essentially their first impression of you. Lorraine at the Career Center helped me greatly. I had already written a draft resume and she showed me resumes of other students who have landed jobs in the past. Lorraine diligently worked with me and as a result, we reworked my entire resume into something that I can feel confident now handing to employers and submitting with job applications!

Lorraine was extremely helpful and friendly throughout the entire process. She gave me a lot of valuable tips about what employers look for and what you can do to impress them right off the bat. I am very grateful for Lorraine’s help and the assistance of The Career Center. As a result, I feel like I am much more prepared to tackle the challenges of landing a future job/ internship.
