Opportunities with the Center for Civic Engagement

We in the Career Center are interested in helping you find interesting opportunities. Sometimes those experiences are off campus, and sometimes they can be found right here at Hofstra! I want to highlight a great place for you to explore -- the Center for Civic Engagement.

The CCE at Hofstra wants you to make a positive difference in the world.  Through on-campus events, off-campus community partnerships, and curricular offerings, CCE is raising high school graduation rates, creating affordable housing for families, improving the health of area children, reducing bullying, increasing food security, deepening grassroots democracy, protecting civil rights, labor rights, and immigrant rights, and much, much more. To learn more, visit their website at www.hofstra.edu/cce.

Through the CCE you can volunteer, take an internship for academic credit, or become a paid fellow! All Hofstra students (both undergraduate and graduate) are eligible. To get involved, attend one of their weekly student meetings that take place every Monday from 5-6pm in Room 206 of Davison Hall, or contact either their Graduate Assistant for Civic Literacy, Brianna Borresen, (bborre4@pride.hofstra.edu) or their Graduate Assistant for Community Partnerships, Andrew Manning (amanni8@pride.hofstra.edu).

The experiences you could gain with CCE could help transform the community and your own professional and personal growth. Check them out!

Executive Director
