Yesterday, I had the privilege to be a part of an exciting event in conjunction with the Office of Student Leadership and Activities. The “Sopho (be) More” event brought together various campus offices and resources for sophomores to get started with their planning for the upcoming college years. Over 60 students attended and there was a multitude of “aha” moments. One student said, “You know I should figure out where The Career Center is located.” Everyone should know where The Career Center is! We are located behind CV Starr Hall! The time to think about your future is now!
Whether you’re a First-Year, Sophomore, Junior or Senior you should be thinking ahead to graduation and asking yourself how I can be prepared. Events that are specific to class divisions are great resources but I challenge each student to get involved with the resources here on campus without our prompt. The value of an education is based on how much each student grabs the wheel and accelerates the pedal. No one has the key to start your journey but you! So my best advice is to fill up your tank with all the high octane resources the University has to offer, buckle in and have a personal drive to your future career!
