Volunteering can lead to internships and much more...

Volunteering is not only a great way to give back to an organization that needs help but can build your professional skills and potentially lead to solid recommendations and future opportunities like internships.  Today, The Career Center staff volunteered at the Long Island Ronald McDonald House. We networked with the staff and other volunteers, and along the way met some of the families and patients.

Some of you may not know this but The Career Center staff is a talented bunch! We took our talents to the kitchens at the Ronald McDonald House and baked a variety of delicious treats for the families.

As we were baking and enjoying each other's company, we networked with the Ronald McDonald staff.  And what do you know? They have internships available to students! This goes to show you how volunteering can lead to future opportunities while giving back to a valuable cause.  So, if you have an interest in public relations, marketing, graphic design, social work, advertising, journalism, event planning, or writing and/or social media log on to Pride-CMS and search for the Ronald McDonald house and other volunteer and internship opportunities with hundreds of organizations on the system!
